Door contact sensor

Just setting up our system and we want to put a contact sensor on the French doors from the dining room. The door opens outwards so there is a chance that the sensor could get wet when the door is opened in poor weather, or it could get exposed to lots of sun if the doors are open on a hot day. Does anyone know if the sensor will be able to withstand this please? Thanks in advance.

Glad you asked, @aleth. Our Alarm devices are not rated for outdoor use. Factors such as low temperatures are known to drain battery quicker, and water reaching the Sensor can be detrimental to intended operation. As these devices are not weather resistant, this mounting scenario may not work. We always value our neighbours' experience and have created a [Feature Request board](https://community.ring.com/t5/Feature-Request-Board/idb-p/Feature_Request_Board). Feel free to add this mounting scenario and any future feature requests there. This will help us to organize and share your requests with our teams here, as well as allow other neighbours to comment and add interest, all in one place. :)
