Moved to new rental with existing doorbell

I recently moved to a new rental house with an existing ring doorbell here from the previous renter. I’ve tried activating it on the app, but it says it is under another account and they need to disable it first. Tried contacting landlord to get contact info for previous renters, but I guess they were evicted and just disappeared. So is this doorbell pretty much useless since I can’t get a hold of the previous owners or is there a way to still be able to use it?
