Being charged USD instead of AUD

Yes I&rsquo;ve been paying in dollars since 2020 and was told by ring they only charge in euros or dollars not uk pounds now I&rsquo;ve found out they do charge in pounds and have changed it but for the last 3 years have been charged exchange fees by my bank for paying in dollars the operator said this is somehow my fault for not signing into the uk account which I am signed to as it says in the top right hand corner when I sign in
