Door Bell Camera Fault
I’m writing to express a serious concern regarding the functional ability of your 'Front Door Bell' camera. On the 28th of February 2025 at 9:09PM, my daughter returned to our house. However, this return was not documented on the Front Door Bell camera itself, meaning that Ring failed to detect her motion. This oversight on behalf of the Ring system is a particular source of concern as the very same day, a robbery had occurred to one of our neighbours . In that case, the robbers were able to go undetected on their Ring security system cameras; raising the very legitimate question of whether third party actors would be able to manipulate or shut down our outdoor cameras as well, or at the very least exploit the gaps in camera coverage to breach the first level of security defense. We hence urge Ring to respond to these concerns as quickly as possible, and answer why a system could so casually make such a costly error.

Hi @user_d1e06b. The Ring Community is a public forum, so we advise against sharing any information that could be personally identifying, such as location information. Motion detection issues are best resolved by adjusting your motion settings. Make sure the Motion Zones capture the pathway to your front door, and increase the Motion Sensitivity if needed. Battery powered Doorbells also have the Motion Frequency option, which you can find under Motion Settings, Advanced Settings. Ring Doorbells connect through wifi, and wifi signal interference can affect the performance of any wifi enabled device. Issues with connectivity can be linked to a number of causes, including broadband network failures and high internet traffic.
