Suggestions for choosing the optimal plan/products

Hi everyone, I am looking to upgrade my new place with a security system and smart products. I was leaning towards the protection plan. I have a \>2000sq feet place and smart thermostat with Alexa connectivity. I was hoping to start off with smart locks and a couple of exterior cameras before adding more stuff. Any recommendations/pros/cons?
