Use existing ADT wired panels

Can one point verbally confirmed by Ring support UK but an authorised installer disagreed with please? I have a wired ADT system with wired sensors - would like to use these existing panels. Was told by Ring support that if I change the panel it would be fine. However an authorised installer told me this is not correct and the wired sensors I already have would be redundant. Can the position be clarified for me please? Thanks
