UK Problem - Mobile Provider on Base Station
cs-support

The base station has selected 3uk which has a very weak signal in our area. O2 and Vodafone are significantly better and EE is unusable. Can I change this setting so the base station uses O2 as it is by far the strongest signal in our area. Ring US support staff unfortunately haven’t got a clue what this means for UK customers (which is frustrating) and their ‘support bot’ clearly doesn’t recognise the issue. Thanks

Ring uses O2, Vodafone, Three, and EE in the UK.  If restarting the Base Station doesn't invoke a change then its found the strongest signal it can in the position its in. Remember to Restart the Base Station from the app as unplugging it and plugging it back in will only invoke the battery backup and doesn't restart the system.   I had to move my Base Station in the end to get a good signal (into my loft!) as I only got 1 bar strength anywhere else in the house as it is highly insulated with foil-backed insulation. Moving the Base Station to the loft brought me to three bars. To give you an idea I can see my closest mast about 1km away so I rather think the antenna in the Base Station is not the best.   One thing else to check is both readings in....... Devices > Alarm Devices > Base Station and  Devices > Alarm Devices > Base Station > Device Settings > Network Settings > Cellular Strength.   I found that the two signal strengths were different for me, however, I reported this anomaly to Ring but they weren't able to explain it nor tell me which one might be right. Perhaps if yours are different you can have a go at reporting this anomaly too, you may have better luck than I had.
