Broken Tamper Switch
Hi, I’ setting up a brand new Ring Alarm system. I opened the back of a motion detector as directed to scan the QR code. I put it back securely and it seemed fine. I then kept getting “tampered” notifications. I went to your help documentation and it suggested checking the switch. I trying flicking it on and it broke clean off. Now it is tampered permanently. Bizarrely then same happened again on another unit. So I now have two broken motion detectors. These tiny switches are so delicate. What are my options now? Can I disable the tamper switch at software level? Do you think I have any chance of getting replacement hardware?

Hi @user_6cca79. Ensuring the covers are firmly snapped into place on the Contact and Motion Detectors will prevent the Tampered notification from appearing. Since your Motion Detectors are physically damaged, please follow up with our support team directly to see what options are available. You can reach out @Ring on Facebook, X, or Instagram.
