WiFi not connecting and when it does stuck on ipdating

I have finally got my brand new ring pro 2 connected to my Sky Fibre router. I had to split the 2.4ghz and the 5 ghz however now I am facing the issue that the device is updating and has been doing this for at least two hours now. I don’t want to factory reset cos it’s took me about 25 times sitting in the same room as the router and 3 different devices to actually get the device connected. I am ready to return this device as it’s not fit for purpose and technically impossible to install.
