Kwikset 912 Z-Wave Code Issue
smart-lock
troubleshooting

Hello, I have a Kwikset 912 that is giving me issues. It was working great on the ring system. Then it kind of lost its mind. So I unpaired it through the ring app. But, once I paired it again I can lock and unlock it from the app. But, it will now not allow me to add our codes onto the lock. I can manually add them at the lock. But, then it will not turn the alarm system on and off. Any thoughts as too why it will not allow me to add the ring codes to the lock? I have replaced the batteries, done a factory reset on the lock, and reset the ring basestation. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi @Stiney. I would review this Help Center article [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360022350352-Arming-or-Disarming-Your-Ring-Alarm-with-your-Smart-Lock-) to see if any of the information can help. Make sure that you are using the same 4 digit code for your Smart Lock as you are for your Ring Alarm. If you are still running into trouble after reviewing that information, try reaching out to our Ring Alarm Support Team. Please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406). I'm having the EXACT issue. Were you able to resolve the issue? If so, whats the trick to getting the codes transferred back into the lock.

I'm having this exact issue with my 912. I do not have the "Unlock to Arm" options under Devices-Alarm Base Station-Garage Entry. There's no "Mode" settings, and I think that's the problem. I go to the website - and that has "Lock Access" - but get "Some required information is not currently available"

Hi @scott31338. If you do not have the option for [Mode Settings on your Smart Lock](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360022370892), try the following steps: - Verify your Ring app and phone are up-to-date with the latest updates. - Make sure you have an alarm access code and that you have shared it with any locks in the Ring app. To do so, you go to three lines on the Ring app dashboard > Settings > Shared Access > Select the name of owner > toggle on Access Code Permissions for Smart Lock If you have tried these steps and are still having the same concern, give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406). If you are outside of the US, please visit [here ](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/213608406)to see how to contact support.
