Hi I I have just installed my Ring Wired doorbell and was hoping it would work with Alexa to mace announcements when someone presses the button. However despite me linking the Ring skill with Alexa no notifications to door bell presses are announced on any of my Echo devices. The ring camera is successfully set up in the Alexa app and I can see a video feed and hear sound from the ring mic but when someone presses the door bell there are no announcements through Alexa only the Ring app on my phone. Have I missed a setup step? many thanks John

I'm pleased to say I have fixed this myself :-) and I am posting here in case anyone else reads this thread looking for an answer. After lots of searching the internet I found a post on Reddit where a user had the same issue and fixed it. The important thing is to disconnect the Ring Alexa skill and then remove any Ring devices left in the Alexa app. I had disconnected the skill numerous times but hadn't deleted the doorbell from Alexa before re-linking the skill. Deleting the camera from Alexa and then going through the re-linking of the skill and rediscovery of the doorbell solved the issue. You do not need to delete the Ring app.
