Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation)
Hello, I am new to these forums so please be gentle with me. I have recently aquired a RIng Video Doorbell from Amazon ([https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07WGJ8XN4/](https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07WGJ8XN4/)). I was also recommended this adapter to power it from the wall ([https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07P4N3H1F/](https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07P4N3H1F/)). I have got a wire wound resistor 50W 25Ohms to put in the wiring ([https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07W3VS575/). ](https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07W3VS575/). ) Is this all I need to be able to trickle charge the battery so I don't have to keep taking the whole doorbell off to charge the battery when it needs doing. I do not have an existing wired doorbell so this is the next best thing. Can you advise that what I have will be suitable? I know you do a Ring Power adapter at £25 but it's only for the Ring Doorbell Pro isn't it? Many Thanks,

Hi @BrettRogersUK. Welcome to the Ring Community. I cannot advise you to use a 3rd party device, as this is an official Ring product. We do have the [Plug-in Adapter](https://en-uk.ring.com/products/plug-in-adapter-for-ring-video-doorbell-pro), that when used with a [Wirewound Resister](https://en-uk.ring.com/products/wirewound-resistor-for-video-doorbells), can support a Ring Video Doorbell Generation 2. With both of those components properly wired, it will provide the trickle charge needed to power your Ring Video Doorbell Generation 2. I hope this information helps.
