406 - not acceptable (2)
Hi, I have also just encountered error 406 like it was discussed in this older post https://community.ring.com/conversations/ring-app/406-not-acceptable/6580154d51f6e6fe788c5adc And I just like to say that I am really annoyed about this! The advice was to turn off the VPN. And what I find completely unacceptable (406!!) is that Ring is blocking people on a VPN! A VPN is everyone's protection especially on public networks against man-in-the-middle attacks and ISP logging. Ring should never block VPN IPs and I expect this to be changed and become user-friendly after all!

Man, I just ran into this problem again the other week. For some reason I couldn't disarm my alarm from the keypad so I was trying the app and it kept saying my system was offline. The alarm ended up going off and I had to assure Ring it was a false alarm. After that, I figured out I had left ExpressVPN on on my iPhone and that's why I couldn't use the Ring app. That's just terrible and needs to be fixed!

Faced that issue. Solution, go to Costco (or Amazon, or whatever else shopping place), buy a couple of security cameras with a DVR system. Done.

Good luck trying to even get a response from Ring on this issue. I complained and got no response. Ring doesn't seem to care that they are alienating probably half their subscriber base with this blocking of VPN's.
