Video Storage Default needs to be changed
I'm semi new to ring, only had my doorbell for a few months. I paid for the basic plan, it said 180 days of video storage which I think is sufficient. Well, something happened where I needed to search for a specific video about 70-75 days ago. I kept getting No Events Found. I contacted support and they told me it's defaulted to only store 60 days! I told them my plan is 180, they said they know but the default is 60 and instructed me how to change it in the app. I will include it below for those who didn't know this. My point is Ring needs to change this default asap. If you are advertising a plan has 180 days storage, then it should be DEFAULTED to 180 days! Now the videos beyond 60days are gone forever. In my case I was searching for videos of a deceased friend for their family. Imagine something more serious like a crime that could be solved with a ring cam video but this stupid default gets in the way. Ugh! **TO CHANGE YOUR DEFAULT VIDEO STORAGE SETTINGS** GO TO YOUR RING APP ON YOUR PHONE Here's how you can Change your Video Storage Time: 1. Go to the menu. 2. Select Control Center. 3. Select Video Management and Video Storage Time. 4. Next to the device, select Edit and choose a video storage option.
