Activating the motion sensor with PAR38 Smart Lightbulb.
My ring app page doesn’t have (missing) a motion alerts switch image like the picture of the page on the side of the box. The ring bridge is working to turn the lights on and off with the ring app. I set the time for one minute. I left the light on and after a minute it shuts off. I selected dusk to dawn hours. The bulb doesn’t come back on when I walk in front of it. What do I need to do to fix this? I only have one light and it’s in a group called backyard which is also the name I gave the bulb.

I disengaged the scheduler: group setting by turning off the scheduled times and deselecting the days of the week. I made sure it was off on the smart bulb as well. Then I set on the device not the group, for the time the light to be on at 1 minute. We’ll see what happens after dark tonight. Meanwhile I found these things of the Ring web. Which is it motion sensor or not in the par38? Smart Light features says ([https://shop.ring.com/products/smart-lighting-par-38-bulb](https://shop.ring.com/products/smart-lighting-par-38-bulb)): “Plus, connect with other Ring smart lights and select Ring devices to customize how your bulbs turn on when motion is detected.” It doesn’t clearly say the motion detection is dependent of the “other Ring smart lights” but that could be the case based on what I found next. **“Do the Ring Smart LED Lightbulbs contain a motion sensor?** No, the Ring Smart LED Lightbulbs do not contain a motion sensor or light sensor. The bulbs work with the rest of your Ring devices to activate when motion is detected on other Ring devices.” [https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038463211-Smart-LED-Lightbulbs-Information](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038463211-Smart-LED-Lightbulbs-Information) I don’t have any other Ring smart lights so that could be the problem. In which case the picture of the Ring app on the par38 packaging needs to be closely examined to see the picture is of a group setting. If you only have the par38 in the group then you don’t have motion detection. Am I right to believe no motion sensor or light sensor? How does it know to come on at dusk and go off at dawn?

THi @ralphy. Thanks for following up. I apologize, I didn't realize this was your only Smart Light. This does not have a Motion Sensor. If in a Light Group with other Smart Lights with a Motion Sensor, it can use their motion to turn on the light. You can also have this [Motion Sensor](https://ring.com/products/smart-lighting-motion-sensor) to trigger the light. For the Dusk to Dawn feature to work, you would need another one of out outdoor Smart Lights with a light sensor to know when there are low light conditions. I hope this information serves you well.

Hi @ralphy. It is possible that the Light Group that you've created is overriding the Dusk to Dawn feature. I would try disabling this Light Group and seeing if that brings back functionality. If not, try resetting the Light and adding it back to the Ring Bridge. If you've tried these suggestions to no avail, please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406).
