UK - Cellular Backup Problem

cs-support

My Wifi signal is very strong but when Virgin occasionally goes offline, my base station is connected to an extremely weak Three UK mobile service provider. Can someone from Ring Support (WHO UNDERSTANDS THAT UK MOBILE NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE AND ROAMING IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT FROM USA) explain how this network can be changed to a stronger one. Despite saying the base station changes to the best network available, IT CATEGORICALLY DOES NOT, EVER Many Thanks

Hi @andyc1. When your RIng Alarm is offline, Cellular Backup is available. However, this is not something that is user configurable. There is not a user option to choose a specific cellular network or to change the SIM card for a specific network.

If you read my original post, you would know your response is not at all helpful. Ring documentations REPEATEDLY say the sim seeks the strongest network. IT DOES NOT. Can you please confirm IT DOES NOT SEEK THE STRONGEST NETWORK. I have full atrength Vodafone and O2 in Banstead and all other networks are very poor. Why does Ring insist the sim selects the optimal network?

I had a similar issue. I solved the problem by moving the Base Station to my loft. Problem solved.
