Hi, I'm interested in getting the Ring alarm system, but I haven't been able to get a clear answer to my question so I'm reaching out to the community for help. Is it possible to switch alarm modes (arm/disarm) from the app without a Ring protect plan/subscription while on the same WiFi as the alarm? My use case is being able to leave the house, take the car out of the garage (which is covered by the alarm) and then arming the alarm without having to re-enter the house and arming it using the keypad. Many thanks!

Hi @user_f85a46. No, a compatible Ring subscription is required to have access to digital arming and disarming via the Ring app. If you aren't interested in subscribing, you can make use of the Exit Delay feature. This will start a countdown when you arm the system on your Keypad before the system fully arms, allowing you time to exit your home. This would require the garage door Contact Sensor be labeled as a Main Door in the settings.

Of course there is no reason why you cannot have a second Keypad located in your garage.....apart from if it is outside the temperature and humidity range of the device at any time.
