Base station can’t reconnect when internet dies

I’ve noticed an issue with my base station - if my modem gets reset (my modem is separate from my router), then the ring base station will not reconnect once the internet comes back up. Even if I reset the router, it still then won’t reconnect. Hard reset of the base station works, but that’s a pain, and not as simple as quickly unplugging it, because it has a built in battery. Ring base station is ethernet connected, with IP reserved by tplink deco routers
