Is the upgrade from 2nd Gen Doorbell to 4th Gen Doorbell worth it?
So we’ve had a Ring Doorbell 2nd Gen camera for about two years now. It’s been a great little camera - yes there have been issues - but overall it’s well worth the price and subscription. Anyway, as we all know it’s nice to upgrade older technology with new technology when it comes along. so I’ve been pondering getting the 4th Gen Camera (not the 2024 edition) what exactly can it do that my 2nd Gen cam can’t? And has it been worth it in your experience? there have been alot of strange and unusual things in my neighbourhood lately. So we need something reliable!

Hi @user_2f652d. We no longer offer the Ring Doorbell 4 on our website, with the Battery Doorbell Plus taking its place. We have a rundown on the features this model offers here. Overall, it will operate very similarly to the 2nd Gen, with a lot of the same features you've come to know and rely on. A few key differences between the 2nd Gen and the Battery Doorbell Plus would be Head-to-Toe HD+ video in 1536p, and the 1:1 Aspect Ratio with 150x150 FOV. I hope this information helps you decide if you'd like to upgrade.
