Cameras won't connect
troubleshooting

Not sure what happened.  My WiFi went off few days ago.  I restarted the router ( on / off) and all is good.  My stuff works, phone, laptop, tablet, TV, etc. I have one 1 doorbell 4 battery stickup can 3rd gen 2 floodlight can wired plus 1 floodlight cam wired pro 1 indoor stickup cam that you plug into outlet in my garage 1 chime, 3 chime pro, 1 mailbox sensor, 1 base station gen 2 without the aero, 6 smoke alarms, 1 keypad 2nd gen, 1 range extender, 2 first gen motion detectors and 1 second gen motion detector not in use tight now, and 8 sensors. Everything works awesome.  But the 4 battery stickup cams 3rd gen stopped working.  Called twice and rasn through all the steps orange button etc.  Chime pro or wifi weont connect.  After 90 minutes on the phone yesterday he agreed to replace 2 of the 4 cameras for free and 35% code forthe other 2.  Because I deactivated the  other 2.  I thought if I deactivated and then resetup.  But he said if I deactivate then warantty expires even though I have pfrotect plus 10 dollar plan.  I never knew. Anyhow I rebooted the router again.  Verizon home internet and Linksys velop WiFi 6.  No change as cameras refuse to connect.  I even bought the 3 pack from Costco for 250 dollars.  The brand new ones won't connect either. Its weird everything elsee and all my ring stuff work.  Just the 4 stickup cameras won't connect.  Not sure what I am doing wrong. Somebody on reddit said reset network settings on my phone.  But I tried 3 different devices and no luck so it can't be that.

I am having a similar issue with trying to start a new account for my Mother .. Cameras and App won't recognise any Wifi when trying to set up, even where my existing network is working just fine.  Good afternoon I have purchased some new cameras to set up at my mothers house for peace of mind for her as she is elderly. Trying to set them up yesterday my Ring App would not show any available Wifi networks. I thought it was possibly an issue with the new Pocket Wifi we had purchased to use for her set up, howevr I took the cameras home to where my existing working Ring Network is located (no issues with my existing system) and it still would not recognize any Wifi network to connect to. Both my home Wifi and the new Pocket Wifi are 2.4Ghz networks (I read that has to be the case) May I please ask for any advice on settings I may have to change? It seems odd that I can be logged in to my existing account and all of my cameras are working fine, however trying to create a new account for my mother and add a camera it would not recognize that there was any Wifi available. Obviously the network is working as my existing account is having no problems at all. (I tired multiple new cameras as we bought 3 Stickup Battery Cams and a Floodlight Cam to use at my mother's house.

I reset the indoor camera and at first no go but after few tries it works on wifi.  And then not the chime pro.  So I reset the chime pro to 5ghz.  Then it reconnected to the chime pro.  So I tried the stickup cameras again no luck.  But the router works fine because  the other cameras work and even reset and reconnect.  So it's weird only the stock up cameras are not working.  Even my new ones refuse to work.

I figured it out kind of.  I took the verizon home internet gateway modem / router box out of brdge mode and factory reset it.  Everything works awesome.  All cameras connect where previously failed.  Even one of the deactivated cameras re setup and reconnected.   | Then I put it back in bridge mode and no go.  Kept same wifi name and made sure the 2.4ghz network is  the same name and password as the verizon gateway.  But no luck.  Existing cameras that were setup up when out of bridge mode and no longer connected and cannot reconnect.   | And setting up two new spotlight cam plus battery version (2 pack from homedepot purchased today) wont connect either.  If directly connect to verizon it works fine.  But when I re enable bgridge mode and use my velops it refuses to connect.  I even factory reset the velops and used different ssid names thinking some setting was messing me up.  But no luck.  Nothing works.   | I have changed the ssids back to the orgiinal names for now.  But not sure why velops are interfering.  Andif it was reset then there is no firewall or anything.   | Verizon had a newer tall rectangle gateway box I can try.  But nothing I have use from at&t or comcast or any provider works for my house.  Its 5280 sq feet.  Not super huge.  I have friends with even bigger houses.  But its big enough that one gateway box never covers all the areas of my house. | Mayeb its time for another router.  But I don't want to spend 300 dollars on a new router if I dont have to.  I currently have one MX5300 used from ebay I for on September 28 2022 for 80 dollars and 50 cents.  And I got 2 MX2000 used from ebay gently for 1 month he said on August 6th 2023 for 62 dollars and 32 cents.  I use 1 in my garage and 1 I took to a relatives house.  And 3 brand new velop I got from bestbuy for 472.98 on January 2nd 2021. | The used ones are questionable but the mx 5300 has been working flawlessly for almost 2 years now.  So all of a sudden it makes no sense to stop working.  Cameras were working and new ones added without problems.  So all of a suddent to stop now is bad. | Maybe a new router will help.  But wifi 6 is no outdated yet.  According to google. | Wi-Fi 7 was officially released on January 8, 2024, when the Wi-Fi Alliance released its Wi-Fi Certified 7 program, though it'll still take years for a significant amount of people to adapt to it. | So wifi 7 is fairly new and might have bugs.  So 6 is still not to obsolete yet.

Ok so just to update went to Verizon yesterday and swapped the modem for a new one with 6e.  Now all is good.  Cameras are connecting again.  Even in bridge mode.  Or ip passthrough actually.  So no need to get rid of my velops.
