Hi I have installed almost all of my ring alaram accessories but I am having a difficult time with my smoke and CO Sensor I followed the directions to a T. It is less than 6 inches from hard wired smoke detector , microphone facing the “speaker” of smoke Alarm, battery is showing 100% but when it comes to the testing it says nothing detected . It flashes one time red during the test Please any ideas ?

Hi @user_f90e16. Does your Smoke Alarm produce a temporal 3 tone? This is crucial for proper detecting with your listener. The Help Center article below will have some great troubleshooting information.   https://ring.com/support/articles/y8ld6/Troubleshooting-Smoke-CO-Listener-During-Setup   Let me know if this helps.

I have the same problem with a new Smoke/CO Listener (my first one). I followed directions to a T, mounted the listener within 6 inches of the smoke alarm with microphone pointing at the smoke alarm, and tested it several times. It is a First Alert Model 3120B and it indeed emits a temporal 3 tone but it never detected the alarm sound. I think the listener I got is defective.
