Hi neighbors. Our teams worked with Alexa to bring you Person and Package Announcements to get automatic Live View of your Ring camera feed on your Echo Show, Fire TV, or Fire Tablet, a voice announcement, and a mobile push notification when your Ring Camera detects a person or package.
Additionally, you can also utilize Alexa Routines to create custom routines for your Ring Doorbell and Security Camera. Check out our Help Center article on Alexa Routines here to see how to set one up. Other neighbors in this thread have shared the routines theyâve created that may also work for you. As always, thank you for your continued feedback and for being a member of the Ring Community.
Here we are, approaching three years later from op comment and this most basic feature is still not a built in component.
Iâd have thought Amazon owning Ring since 2018 would result in perfect integration of the devices into the ecosystem, but if functionality as basic as this still doesnât exist, it doesnât bode well.
Iâve used the only way possible for this to work - have Alexa âsay the commandâ, but very hit and miss. Majority of the time it says it canât even find the device (simply named âdrivewayâ).
I canât see why it isnât a core feature from the get go, to have a camera show on all smart monitors/devices when any motion is detected.
I donât care about people or package detection specifically, I want all motion.
Seriously Ring, what is going on with this? Do you have no contact/communication/influence with the Alexa department?
