Add Emergency Services Button

We’ve all seen doorbell cams of victims in desperate need of Help, regardless of the circumstances. However, many times they go unanswered/unnoticed. It’s time we install an Emergency button that sounds an audio alarm while simultaneously and immediately connecting to a 911 operator to assess & dispatch emergency services as needed. Of course homeowners would be sent a notification as well during the event. If cell phones are mandatorily able to connect to 911 services without a service provider; why shouldn’t the Ring Doorbell provide the same services for those in need of life-saving help? Especially those who are unable to defend themselves (i.e.: children and those physically unable). Software updates could potentially include tagging multiple Ring doorbell units at various houses triggered by a single unit upon pressing the emergency button, multiple nearby ring units would record during an event of uncertainty/suspicion, considering potential missing persons or evolving amber alerts - providing help to the authorities during an investigation/pursuit.
You’ve gotta agree, you can’t go wrong with this idea that will save lives. Period.

Hello, @Savealife ADP Vantage Hcm

The idea of enhancing doorbell cameras with an emergency button that connects directly to 911 and notifies homeowners is indeed a thoughtful one. It could provide an additional layer of security and peace of mind, particularly for those who may be vulnerable or unable to seek help through other means.

Interestingly, Ring already offers an SOS feature in their app for users enrolled in SOS for Professional Monitoring. This feature allows users to request immediate police, fire department, or medical dispatch to their device’s location in an emergency. It also includes the option to sound a siren as a deterrent for suspicious activity. This service requires a Ring Protect Pro plan, which is sold separately.

Your suggestion to expand this feature to include an actual physical button on the doorbell unit itself and the ability to link multiple units could be a valuable addition to the existing service. It would be a proactive step towards enhancing community safety and could indeed aid authorities during emergencies and investigations.

While I can’t implement such features, I can certainly appreciate the potential impact of your idea on improving safety and emergency response. It’s always worth sharing such suggestions with the companies that produce these devices, as customer feedback often drives innovation and new developments. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this important matter.

Best Regard,
Ryan Manus
