Ring video doorbell pro 2 + Alexa announcements issue
Hello, I spent about 2 hours chatting to Amazon support, where my Alexa devices are not announcing any movements from my doorbell. It seems to be just the Echo devices, as the doorbell works fine on 6 of my mobile devices. The issue started about Friday or so ever since installing an Eero 6 pro. The following were done: Confirmed announcement devices are set to my echo devices and ticked Confirmed motion and doorbell press announcements are enabled The Ring skill was disabled and re-added multiple times Echo devices were reset to factory settings, which caused it to de-register from my Amazon account. These were re-setup again Alexa app was uninstalled in addition to clearing the cache etc as well on my Android phone. Re-setup the Alexa app. Echo devices can see the ring doorbell fine manually (live video). Telling Alexa to show the front door also works. I can see the front door in the Alexa app itself and it gives me a live feed I unplugged Eero 6 pro and put my ISP router back on. Rebooted all echo devices and didn't help. Out of ideas. Amazon was unable to help. They told me to just keep trying for a couple of days. Doesn't sound like a Ring issue but just wondering if anyone had any ideas! Thank you.

Hi @Caitlyn_Ring I forgot about coming to this post! Sort of good news. I had to remove the Amazon-linked account from my Ring app and re-authorise it again. It fixed the issue with doorbell press notifications to my Echo devices and motion detection notifications - where Alexa physically says "motion detected", however, it doesn't display the video feed automatically. In the end, I've set up a routine to manually show the front door when motion is detected which works pretty much when the camera opens it in full screen! It's not perfect, but this will have to do! Many thanks for replying anyway.

C@MahZ. I'm glad to hear you were able to get this sorted! To clarify, Live View is only displayed automatically on Doorbell rings, not motions. It sounds like the Alexa Routine you set up is working out for this though. 😊

Hi @MahZ. You've definitely gone through all the troubleshooting steps we typically recommend here. Have you checked any volume or do not disturb settings on your Echo devices? The only other reason I can think for them to not play an announcement would be if the volume is off, or notifications are somehow silenced.
