Duplicate chimes and phone notifications

January 2022 - and this problem recently started for us. Every doorbell press received one chime “ring”, and one notification on outr iPhones. Seconds to minutes later, and without the doorbell button being pushed again, the chime rings for a second time, and the iPhones get another notification. This is, infuriating to say the least.

This duplication of chimes and iOS notifications never used to happen. I don’t remember when it started. At the same time, some notifications are significantly delayed, such that by the time the chime and iPhones alert, the person who was at the door has already left.

Come on Ring, get this sorted

This just recently began for us. It happens with the front camera and occurs on everyone’s phone in the house. Every notification comes through 2x back-to-back. The camera for the back of the house does not have this issue. We are not using any smart watches and our Ring is not linked/integrated with any other devices. There’s definitely something going on here.
