Currently if my entry/exit (front door) is open when I try to arm my alarm, it asks me to bypass the sensor. I must pull the door closed, start the arming from the keypad and then open the door and leave. This is daft. I should be able to have the door open the whole time and still be able to start the arming countdown. I have never known an alarm that does not allow this.

Hi, I've run into a small but irritating issue. We have the system covering our garage/workshop. With our old alarm it would allow us to arm the system with the main door open (we often leave the door open when using the workshop so its a bit annoying to have to close it to arm the system) and then we could walk out, close and lock the door, no problem. It seems that with this system I have to bypass the door sensor in order to do this, which negates the point of the door sensor if it's not activated! Please help! Thanks.

You should be able to have your entry-exit door open when you set the alarm on the keypad. My keypad is in the hallway and the entry-exit door is the door from the hallway to the porch. So to set the alarm on the keypad I first have to close the entry-exit door (whilst remaining on the inside of the hallway), only once I've set the alarm can I open, walk through and close the entry-exit door as part of the alarm countdown.
