Hello @hash70 ,

The Ring Support services provided by Ring are free. Ring does not charge you for this.

But it is possible that you may incur long-distance telephone/cellular fees from your telephone/mobile provider, for calling from Scotland to England.

To telephone Ring Support for help:

Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19, their available hours have been changed also:

As for your peephole microphone that’s screeching/echo when you use it, you can try:

  1. Removing the battery, wait for about a minute, and then reinstall the battery.
  2. Tapping the camera’s reset button to see if that clears up your issue.
  3. If the issue persists, I would again use the Reset button, but this time press and hold it for over 20-seconds to perform a hard “Factory Reset” which will wipe out any potential corrupted downloaded Firmware. After this Factory Reset and your camera boots back up, complete the setup instructions again. Since the Factory Reset returns your camera back to only the factory installed firmware, during this setup it will again download the additional Firmware fresh.
  4. Try un-installing the Ring App from your mobile, turn your mobile off and then back on, and then re-install the Ring App. Don’t worry about your previous App settings being lost, because those previous settings are not stored on your mobile phone. There are on the Ring Server Cloud for your email account you have with Ring. Rarely, but sometimes, the App Alert Tone sounds might change back to their default setting, so you might have to re-choose the Ring and Motion sounds you want to hear. But your other previous settings should be fine.

If these steps do not solve your issue, then I recommend you call Ring Support. I hope you find some of this information helpful.
