I am trying to set up a new ring doorbell. I keep getting a notification stating unable to connect to wifi “ring setup bf” due to having a MAC address on router and that I need to make it not private or change settings. I made my router not private but don’t know what settings I have to change. The thing is I have a ring camera in the house that connected just fine with the new router. Any suggestions?
Hi @mmaxey98! The Ring setup network should not require any alterations in your network settings. When performing a setup in the Ring app, the step which asks you to visit your mobile device wifi settings to find the Ring Setup network is in reference to an access point in which your Doorbell and Ring app/ mobile device will communicate securely, just for that step. Please ensure there is not a vpn active on the mobile device. If this concern persists, try resetting your Video Doorbell by holding the setup button for 20 seconds. I hope this helps!
