Since I moved my ring doorbell doesn’t work nearly as well as it used to even though I have less activity at the new place. The battery drains quickly and it takes almost 30 seconds to detect motion. Sometimes it does capture motion at all. The device is less than a year old What could be the problem?
Hi @Cathy1291! Introducing a Ring device to a new environment can sometimes require some trial and error to optimize operation. As each environment varies from another, I recommend checking out all motion settings in the Ring app to see if any adjustments can be made.
New environments also mean new networks. Please ensure the wifi signal is sufficient and not indicating any interference, as interference can drain battery and delay event functionality, like motion detection. Check out our Community post about RSSI for tips on optimizing this signal strength. Feel free to let us know how this goes!
