Sorry to hear about this, @Penumbrook! When a screw is stripped, the best way to attempt to remove it will be with needle nose pliers. This should allow you to grab a small portion of the screw and turn/ pull out. A rubber band can also help if you can wrap the rubber band around the screw for grip while turning to loosen.
