Ring Elite Faceplate Screw Stripped

Bottom line: I am unable to connect to the ring doorbell on my home.  We are moving into our retirement home after renting it out for two years. The ring documents are missing. The wires are set up properly, but there is no connection to the doorbell. Since the faceplate screw is stripped, I can't even get to the back of the device to scan the QR code. Any suggestions?

Re: Ring Elite Faceplate Screw Stripped

Sorry to hear about this, @Penumbrook! When a screw is stripped, the best way to attempt to remove it will be with needle nose pliers. This should allow you to grab a small portion of the screw and turn/ pull out. A rubber band can also help if you can wrap the rubber band around the screw for grip while turning to loosen.

If the screw will not come out, and you have no other means of finding the QR code (packaging, manual, device), our support team will be happy to help further. Please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available here. We’re taking additional steps to protect our team and help reduce the spread of COVID-19, so this has resulted in longer than normal wait times. If you are outside of the US, please read our response to COVID-19 here to see how to contact support. Feel free to let us know how this goes! Smiley Happy

Re: Ring Elite Faceplate Screw Stripped

This is one of those stripped screw situations where the screw is spinning freely. As soon as the smoke clears here in Washington State, I will attempt to prise it out, though I fear the hole is too small for a standard needle-nose pliers. It is likely that I will be calling you within the next week to call in to your support staff. Thank you for the quick reply!
