Ring 2 Doorbell poor WiFi RSSI

Hi,

My current RSSI is -67dBm which works OK, however if I place my phone in the same position as the doorbell it receives the same WiFi signal at -44dBm.

The AP is only 2m from the doorbell (behind a brick wall) and I even created a separate SSID just for ring.

23dBm is a massive difference compared to my phone, is the ring hardware really that bad ?

Hey @tescophil! A -67 RSSI can certainly cause inconsistencies in connection and functionality. Check out our Community post about RSSI for tips on optimizing signal strength.

Brick walls are some of the toughest exterior walls for wifi signal to travel through. Moving the router closer or using our Chime Pro might assist with connection quality. I hope this helps!
