Please Help! Have video doorbell, but mechanical chime wiring not good

Our sweet daughter bought us a Ring Pro video doorbell for Christmas. We have since discovered that our original (OLD house) doorbell wiring FROM THE CHIME TO THE TRANSPONDER does not work. We, of course, don’t want to rip into a wall to repair that wiring. The question is: Can we purchase a battery operated mechanical chime and somehow use that with a ring doorbell that is wired into our old doorbell spot? At this point we can’t return the Ring Pro wired version (I know they sell a battery operated one). Any suggestions?

Good question @halljohnie! Fortunately, there are many solutions available to you for this scenario. If the existing wiring provides enough voltage to power your Doorbell Pro, you will only need to add one of our Ring Chime devices for in home notifications. The Chime plugs into a standard outlet and communicates with you Ring devices via wifi, to notify of events with many tone options.

If the existing wiring is not providing enough power, check out our Pro Plug In Adapter for the easiest installation method. I hope this helps!
