Peephole cam charge while in use

Sorry for the question, but I can’t find the answer in the forum or product documentation.

I would like to use the peephole cam for an apartment that I am away from for several months at a time. I was thinking about running and extension cord to a USB charger and leaving the battery cover off so the battery would always stay charged when I am away.

I am simply wondering if the peephole camera functions while the battery is inserted and being charged.

We’re glad you asked @scottpaulkaye! When the battery is inserted into the Peephole Cam’s indoor assembly, it will only fit the grooves if you put it in the USB charging port side first. This is also where the prongs are to complete the power source connection from the battery to the device.

I recommend charging your battery to 100% and altering your motion settings and frequency to cater to battery preservation while you are away. I hope this helps! :slight_smile:
