Activity Event History on ring.com versus in the Ring app

I am using the Ring Doorbell Pro and have an annual subscription.
If I set the Activity/Event History filter to “Missed Ring”, I only see 1 event on ring.com from 2 days ago, but I see many events in my Ring app, going back almost 60 days.

Why the discrepancy?

Hi @Natey. Thank you for bringing this to our attention! I’ve been in touch with the appropriate teams who can look into this further, and just need a bit more information from you. I know you stated that you see more history on the Ring app, but is this the same on other devices with the Ring app (not logged into the website, but on a Windows 10 app or Mac app)?

Additionally, when you are on your web browser, as you zoomed in so that it’s cutting off your entire history? You can double check on this by zooming out even more than 100%, down to 70%, and seeing if more history loads for you. Third option to try is another browser, so if you’re using Google Chrome, try Firefox, or anything other than what you normally do. Let me know how it behaves on each platform if it differs.

Lastly, could you get a screenshot of how the history looks on both interface? For example, a screenshot from your app, and one from the website, showing this discrepancy. With that screenshot, please let me know what browser you are on, the browser’s version, the type of computer you’re using (Windows, Mac, etc.) and the computer’s OS version. The browser info can typically be found in a menu under “About (browsername)”. OS info can typically be found in a menu “About (devicebrand)”. This is information our team is looking for so we can look into this more! Hope to hear back from you soon.

Today 3/12/2020, I see zero Missed Ring events on ring.com but multiple in my Android app.

Screenshots attached.

And from my Windows Desktop app: (attached)

Previous posting only allows 2 file attachments.

Thank you @Natey. These screenshots are very helpful for our teams that look into this. In addition, please let me know what browser you are on (for when you were viewing it on ring.com in your first screenshot), the browser’s version, and the Window computer’s OS version. The browser info can typically be found in a menu under “About (browsername)”. OS info can typically be found in a menu “About (devicebrand)”.

Also do you have any other browsers you could you try this on and see if the same results happen?

Desktop: Windows 10 Pro v1909, Firefox 73, Chrome 80

Phone: Android 8.0, Chrome 80

I doubt it’s a browser issue.

Can some other user verify if they are missing Missed Ring events on ring.com too?

@Natey Thank you! I’ve passed this all onto the team as they investigate this. I will update you when I have more information on this situation. Other neighbors, please feel free to chime in and provide the same information as @Natey as so this can help the team in their investigation!

For now, I have accepted this post as a solution. While we are aware of this concern and as the team continues to investigate, this is a helpful way for other neighbors that come into this thread to share in depth information and examples as to what happens so we can pass it along to the appropriate teams. We appreciate your patience and will continue to update this thread with more information. Thank you.

Hi, I am experiencing the same issues. I only see a few days of history on the PC however the APP on the phone dates back for 60 days. I need to be able to download the month of April for all activities toi assist Police in an investigation.

Would you please assit me to do this

Thank you.

Activity History on Desktop is useless as the video takes full screen, you will have to zoom out to scroll older dates

Activity History on App is also useless as you scroll to older date, view and then you come back you have to scroll again

Effectively the paid product when I try to use is pathetic. Looks like there are other with similar problem.

Same issue here. It does not seem like Ring is paying much attention, even though I am paying them for the service. I had a service tech claim that he did work at my house on March 12th. The website only shows 3 or 4 days and to scroll through the app, then quess what the alarm was, and if it is the wrong one, have to scroll from the start again is frustrating. IT IS NOT MY BROWSER! you are not showing the full history on the web site!

I’m experiencing the same issue - only 2 days worth of videos can be seen online and 30 days worth are available in the app (which according to the plan description I should be seeing 60 days but that’s another matter)

OK, so on Chrome I see 2 days no matter how far I zoom out but on Firefox I see 12 days worth of activity on Ring.com. Still not 30 or 60 days as expected. Microsoft Edge browser also gives me only 12 days. Something is definitely broken.

I sent a message in another discussion indicating I’m having the same problem. Getting pretty frustrated because we need to see some history. On ring.com I can only see a couple of days worth of video- not the 60 days stated when I started my Pro plan. I’ve tried using Edge and Chrome. My subscription is not lapsed.

I am having the same issues on Chrome. Firefox seems to let me see all videos if I zoom out far enough. Also, when using the app, it would be great to not have to scroll down after each view of a video!

I too can’t see my activity history using Safari. It only shows me 3 on the history page. Also please fix the app, so when I scroll down on my history and tap on a video, it sends me back to today’s events. I need to find some footage for a neighbor and it’s extremely frustrating and time consuming having to scroll back down EVERYTIME!

The online web application is not as promoted. With the 4th of July celebration there was a lot of activity that can not be seen via the app due to limitted history viewing. Currently I only see back 3-4 hours. This really limits the expansion of ring’s systems for me.

Hey neighbors! We recently made some changes to the Ring.com website and how you view your activity history after receiving your feedback. Please check it out and let us know what you think!

This happened to me today also. The history is not the same in the app or online. And the video of some events can’t be played.

Hi @LCAGFA.

Hi neighbors. Yesterday we were experiencing issues with our Processing Infrastructure which resulted in delays in our Ring devices. This has since been resolved and everything should be back to normal.

If you are still experiencing delays, please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available here. We’re taking additional steps to protect our team and help reduce the spread of COVID-19, so this has resulted in longer than normal wait times. If you are outside of the US, please read our response to COVID-19 here to see how to contact support.

My information was on the Ring.com and now it is gone. I like it better there because it is bigger

I have a computer. My information use to be out there and it is now gone. I did change from Basic to Pro but that should not change it.
