Ring Step Light - Motion Detection

Hi - have three questions regarding the the Ring Steplight for folks that have one:

  1. I know the lighting capabilites can be turned off during daylight, but will motion capabilites still work in detecting motion and say notifying me through Alexa?
  2. If I wanted, could I use the Steplight for just it’s motion capabilities, turning off the lighting capabilities?
  3. DoI need a bridge or can I use the Ring Security Base Station as the bridge?

Hi @BlakeT20. Use of our Smart Light does require the Ring Bridge. If you are looking to disable the light function and only have it for motion sensing, I would suggest using the Smart Lighting Motion Sensor. If you turn off a Steplight, you turn off all functions for it. I hope this information helps!
