What is the best way to get maximum battery life from a Stick Up Battery Cam?

Tips and suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Bill

Hey @Bill_Holsey. To have the absolutely maximum out of your battery on the Stick Up Cam, you will want to finely tailor your Motion Settings, as this is how the battery will drain in the first place. You will want to ensure you do not have more than 10 events a day all the time, unless you have that much traffic going on around the camera. More than ten events a day could drain the battery faster as this is seen as excessive motion.

You will also want to ensure you are limiting the times you activate the Live View, as every time you activate a Live View, the battery does get used for this. In regards to the Motion Settings, the less sensitive it is, the more battery you will have saved, so I recommend playing around with them so that you can still get what is happening captured, but it is avoiding motion in areas further out that you may not need to see.

In all, with about ten events a day and only activating the Live View when you have notifications, neighbors see the battery last anywhere between a month to three months, but it all varies based on location, usage and settings. I recommend having a spare battery with you, so this way when one is low, you can just swap it out. You can also convert your Stick Up Cam Battery into a Plug-In if it’s the 3rd Generation, as you can get a Plug-In Adapter for non-stop power.

I have 4 stick up cams with one spare battery so each time a battery needs replacing, a charged one is inserted and the removed one is re-charged. But the life in some of the cams can be 3 months and others only 3 weeks. All cameras have the same settings to achieve best battery life. And oddly, the most battery life is achieved by the cam which has the most events! Any bright ideas?

Hi @andrew.c.robinson. The battery life is going to be dependant on the number of events, the Video Recording Length, and the cold weather. Both motions and Live Views are counted as events as wel, which is important to keep in mindl. You may want to reach out to our support team at one of the numbers available here.
