Video Jumpy

I have a ring doorbell, floodlight camera, and 3 spotlight cameras. All are showing RSSI as green. All devices, video is freezing on playback and live video. Ring devices are on dedicated internal wireless network. Internal network speed is 40 MPS, and internet speed is 5 MPS upload and 95 MPS download. Total network utilization throughout a 48 hour period is 38%.

Hi @mccaskillda. Could you share a video example of what this looks like? When attaching this video, you will need to compress the MP4 file into a ZIP file, as ZIP files can be attached to your reply and not MP4s. In addition, you can upload this video elsewhere, such as YouTube, and then share the link to the video in your reply. Alternatively, if the video is saved in the Event History in your Ring App, you can choose to share it via email and copy the link that is generated.

In addition, your internet speeds may explain any lag in video that you may be seeing. We recommend 2 Mbps download and upload for the devices when it comes to the internet and while you have plenty of download, it seems like your upload is where the problem is. Since you have 5 Ring devices, you would need 10 Mbps upload in order to have optional video performance on both your recordings and Live View, as upload is needed to upload the video Live and after the event to the cloud. In addition, other devices in the home connected to the wifi may be taking the upload speeds as well which would limit the usage the Ring devices have over it.
