Stick up cam lets out loud beep

Yes, please reach out

I reset my device last night and haven’t heard it since!

It’s really concerning that Ring isn’t taking any action to resolve the problem…

Someone back on about page 5 of this thread suggested removing the camera from the system and reinstalling. This seems to work.

I agree that I am quite disappointed in Ring for not been involved with solving this issue.

yes my girlfriends son just informed me that this annoying beep came back today. an I found out there was a firmware update last night.

it appears when ring does these firmware updates the automatic update does not complete upload so it shows there are problems which in return sends out this annoying beep.

so if you re-install the camera my thoght it the firmware they were trying to install will then successfully install.

Mine just started doing this as well. Installed the entire Ring Alarm System and 3 Stick Up Cams last December.

My issue seemed to have resolved. I changed the batteries and the tech support said it happens when they push out an update. They checked my update and said things were updated. It probably took another day or so for the cameras to clear, but I haven’t had the issue occur again in about 2 weeks

I took out the battery last week as it was running low. I left it around one hour before replacing the battery and haven’t heard the beeps since.

I haven’t stood outside all day to 100% confirm that the beep noise is completely gone, but am pretty sure issue is resolved.

Watch this space!

I skimmed quickly through the posts… so apologies if this has been addressed (didnt seem like it).

It happened to me yesterday and I thought it was my ring fire alarm as well - but couldnt tell exactly where it was coming from. I do have the alarm system, but I DO NOT have stick up cams… so I’m not sure if it was from the base station or… what. I checked event log, but nothing showed up… so not sure what it was…

I have been noticing my camera doing a high pitched beep for 3 seconds at random. It seems to do it after activity - but that may just be when I’m around to hear it. Please reach out!

This solution worked for me back in late August for the Battery Stick Up Cam in my living room as well. However, the beeping has returned this week. Will be trying this again, fingers crossed.

Mine started doing the same thing. I hope we get an answer soon. It’s a bit annoying.

the beeping came back again today. just so everyone knows it never goes away. it will come back when they do the next firmware update. it only happens to battary stick up cams. it is a very horriifying beep. I reset the came which is basically re-installing it and then it did its firmware update, the beep happened once after that but then went away. I am sure it will be back. what really suprises me is when I speak with the ring support they do not seem to every heard of this problem. they act surprised. i recently stroped referring ring to my family and friends because of this glitch. this could very well cause me to shop around for a new brand.

Same. After the reset it came back, but only one of my two stick up cams. After one more reset and it comes back, I’ll replace the camera. If it happens to the new one I’m pulling my system and going to simplisafe. There is no excuse for this not being figured out by now.

Please reach out to me as well. Our camera just did the update 2 days ago and we now have the beeping happening as well.

Ours started doing this a couple weeks ago.

Hello,
I am having the same issue with one of my cameras. I will attach a video for reference but what I believe to be happening is that the beep is an error message caused when the microphone cuts out and why the beeping is not recorded. This morning I experienced my camera turning on and hearing the shutter noise and then the loud 2 second beeping. When I checked the video the camera recorded sound then cut out for the duration of recording from the start off the beep until the camera stopped recording. I checked previous videos as this has been happening more frequently and many examples of the same issue. Maybe a faulty device or firmware issue?? I agree it is frustrating and annoying as it happens all hours. Hopefully a fix can be found. Its the only one of my 8 cameras that does it. Also checked camera health and everything is good. Firmware updated and powered with great connection. Hopefully this helps with finding the root of the problem. Thank You!

So I can’t add the saved Mp4 ring video file to this post because the extension isn’t accepted. Says not valid? If you need to see video let me know and I can email directly. TY!

Sorry you are having an issue. I had this happen with 2 of 4 of my stuck up cameras and after checking firmware and a couple of power cycles from changing the batteries, mine seem to have stopped.

I appear to now be suffering from this issue as well. I installed a new stick-up camera in my entry way and had no issues for the first week or two it was up. However, late last week, I heard two distinct, extremely loud (startlingly loud) beeps, about 5-10 minutes apart. No further beeps for nearly 24-hours when I then heard the same beep again. It happened so intermittently, it was difficult to pinpoint, but after finding this discussion, I pulled the battery from the stick up camera and had not heard another beep since.

Until this morning. I recently switched the WiFi network that my peephole camera was connected to, which involved having to reset the camera which resulted in a firmware update. That was done less than 48 hours ago. This morning, I heard two distinct beeps just like the ones I heard last week, but much fainter and clearly muffled through a wall. I cannot say for sure whether it is my peephole camera or the wired Indoor Camera I have in my garage, but I assume it was one of the two and find it coincidental that it is occurring shortly after the peephole camera went through a firmware update. If it was indeed the peephole camera as I suspect, the beep definitely occurred through the outdoor speaker rather than the indoor chime.

I have had the peephole camera for nearly a year now with no issues so far, and a stickup camera on my back patio for nearly just as long without issue as well (knock on wood). I hope this issue is resolved soon as I had jus bought another camera to watch over my driveway, but don’t dare install it now as I’ve already had to take the beeping camera out of service for now and worry I may shortly have to do the same with my peephole camera until the issue is resolved.

I’m having the exact same problem. Never before. Started this past week.
