Ring Floodlight Cam: Automated, custom panic alarm when motion is detected

If anybody knows how to configure a Ring Floodlight Cam to play a very brief, custom panic alarm (ideally at a lower volume) through its external speaker (e.g. via IFTT) to scare off deer and other animals in a rural area, please advise.

Hi @JB96, while this is not a feature at this time, it is a great idea! At this time, our Floodlight Cams can only have the speakers activated 1 of 2 ways. The first is through the siren which plays just the default siren sound and cannot be turned up/down/to something else. The other way is to enable 2 way talk through your app and verbally say whatever you would like the Floodlight Cam to say.

Although, this is a fantastic idea and I could see how this could benefit lots of neighbors! I’ll make sure to pass on this feedback to the appropriate team for you.

can the siren be set to automatically go off if motion is detected? @chelsea_ring

@kwfagan The siren cannot be set to automatically go off when motion is detected. The siren for the cameras are going to have to be manually turned on everytime you would like to use them. Thank you for sharing with the Community, neighbor! As we value our neighbors’ feedback, we’ve created a Feature Request board. Feel free to add this and any future feature requests there. This will help us to organize and share your requests with our teams here, as well as allow other neighbors to comment and add interest, all in one place.
