New "Privacy Zones" Feature Not Available On All Cameras

I received the new Privacy Zones feature last night. I have 6 Ring cameras, and this feature is available on all of them except my wired Spotlight cam. Ironcially, this would be the 1 camera where I’d be interested in using the feature. If I navigate to the Privacy Settings under each camera I have the Privacy Zone feature, just not the Spotlight.

Any ideas how I can get the feature for the Spotlight? My wife’s phone shows the same as mine (we login with the same accounts). Her phone shows the feature for every camera except the Spotlight. I’ve tried logging out, then back into the Ring app with no luck. Also, the camera itself is working perfectly fine with no problems whatsoever.

Should also mention I’ve uninstalled/reinstalled the app.

Hey @5150Joel. Thank you so much for bringing this up! We started to roll out the privacy zones feature to devices that previously did not have it, and our slow rollout will be going on until April 17th, 2020. If you do not see this feature by the 18th, please reach out to our support team here for them to take a look into your device and why it doesn’t have it yet!

When it comes to devices, we will be having this on the Floodlight Cam (v1, v2), Spotlight Cam Wired (v1 and v2), Video Doorbell Elite, Video Doorbell Pro (v1, v2, v3), Stick Up Cam Wired, Indoor Cam, Spotlight Cam Battery, Video Doorbell 2, and the Stick Up Cam Battery.

Thanks Chelsea. I was unaware there were so many different versions of each device, in terms of V1, V2, V3 and so on. A nearby friend of mine has the Spotlight Mount version and has the Privacy update, so I figured since they’re more/less the same camera my Wired Spotlight would have it too.

You think I should just hold tight then for now even though my other 5 devices have the update?

Appreciate it–thanks again.

@5150Joel Oh yeah! There’s always a couple different versions for each of our products, which is why from time to time some users with the “same device” may see a feature before another user does, most likely cause they have different versions! I definitely say hold tight with it, and our support team can let you know what version you have as well if you’re curious at any time, or want to check in with them if you don’t see it by the morning of the 18th!

Well, ended up calling support on this today. Spoke to tier 1 and 2, and now it’s escalated up to development. It was confirmed since I did receive the Privacy Settings feature push it should be available on all my cameras, and the Spot Light Cam Wired is on the list for the feature.

We confirmed it’s not any of my phones or the camera. They had me remove the camera from my account and add it back but the Privacy Zones feature still didn’t appear. My Spotlight Cam continues to work fine and without issue, I just have no option for the Privacy Zones feature while it’s available for all of my other cameras.

On a hold now waiting to hear back on the issue…

I have the same issue. I have privacy zones on my indoor cams but not on my outside wired cameras which is where I’d really like the feature

@ChrisJohn did you receive the notification of Privacy Settings under New Features? I’m thinking, and hoping maybe the rollout of this is just not yet complete. Just find it odd that I recieved the “New Features” update for Privacy Zones, yet it doesn’t apply to all my cameras.

My cameras that have the Privacy Zones options are (all wired): Stickup v2, Floodlight, DB Pro, and 2 Indoor Cams. Do you not have the Privacy Zones option on any of these by chance?

Yes I did receive the notification in new features however it’s only available for my in door cameras and not my outdoor spotlight cameras

I dont have privacey zone on my floodlight cameras

Hey neighbors! I’ve checked with my team this afternoon after we started wrapping up the rollout of new devices to have Privacy Zones. In the list of the devices that will have it already from what I listed before, the Floodlight Cam (v2) and Spotlight Wired Cam (v2) are excluded from this list. We are still working on rolling this out to these devices, and I can always update the thread according when it is available for these devices.

Thanks Chelsea. Any idea or loose ETA on when v2 devices might get the feature?

@5150Joel I was unable to get an exact ETA, as the rollout for these specific devices has been pushed back due to unforeseen circumstances. I was told that we are hoping within the next month or so, but at the latest, towards the end of the summer! I’ll make sure to update this thread when this is the case, if y’all don’t see it first and beat me too it, where we should have ALL devices enabled with this feature option. :smiley_cat:

Anyone have this feature show up yet on a spotlight or flood light camera that didn’t previously have the feature after the rollout of Privacy Zones?

Realize it may be a while yet until this is pushed but thought I’d ask since I’m logged in, and it’s about a month later.

Still not showing up for me on my floodlight cam app.
Shame as it’s a feature I desperately need currently.

Not on my new floodlight cams I just purchased. On everything else but not the floodlight cams.

Hi @Gmb! All of your Cameras should have the option for Privacy Zones to be enabled, especially if your other devices had this option available. Although it sounds like your app is already up to date, I recommend removing and reinstalling the Ring app on your mobile device to see if this with obtain that setting.

Visiting your Floodlight Cam in the Ring app, selecting device settings, then selecting privacy settings, should get you to the location in which you can select privacy zones. I hope this helps!

No. Still not available. It is on all my other cameras but not my 2 floodlight cams.

Thank you for the quick update @Gmb. This is an odd occurrence for sure! I recommend reaching out to our support team who will be able to take a more in-depth look into this feature and your Cams. Please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available here. @Marley_Ring are you familiar with the previous posts in this thread regarding the V2 devices? It was previously stated the V2 Spotlight and V2 Floodlight cams don’t yet have this feature. Are you saying it has since been pushed now to V2 devices?

I have 2 android phones and 1 iPhone and Privacy Zones still doesn’t appear for my Wired Spotlight cam, while I do have it as an option on my other 5 cameras.

I called support and this feature is not available yet on all devices. They are still rolling it out.
