Metal Ring on Mounting Bracket

Hi there,

I just received this, and was trying to unscrew the metal ring on the mounting bracket of the camera in order to place camera in. However, the screw seems impossibly tight, I have the bracket itself mounted, but cannot take this screw out to put camera in. I am using the philips head screwdriver provided.

Is it possible to get a new mounting bracket?
