Low Battery Notice on a Wired Stick Up Cam?

Same here as all the others …

About 1 and 1/2 month old Stickup Cam plug-in began showing critically low battery message over a week ago. And now says battery is completely run out with empty batt. icon now showing on dashboard image …

However luckily like some others here have posted, the camera remains fully functional (for now). But is nevertheless annoying …

Sign … just another issue to deal with from Ring, which have really been piling up in the last few months it seems. To go along with other problems like my phone keeps losing audible notifications from the Ring app. When I reboot the phone it restores them, but only temporarily. Within a few hours it reverts back to no audible notifications for motion or someone pressing the doorbell from any of my Ring devices.

Sheesh …

Add one more to the list. I just noticed it today but it is possible it has been going on longer. Before even calling Ring I reset the Stick Up Cam by unplugging it and also uninstalled/re-installed the mobile app (Android - Samsung Galaxy Note 9). Didn’t work so I called Ring and they had me reinstall the Stick Up Cam using my mobile device. Didn’t fix it. Tried a few other things like resetting it from their end and me unplugging it again. Still nothing. Finally, after being on the phone with them for almost an hour, they said they would ship me a free battery to install. I was happy with this obviously but still pushed the fact that this needed to be resolved long-term. The rep agreed. This is clearly a hardware, firmware, or even mobile app issue. I haven’t seen anyone post if they’re IOS or Andriod users. Might be helpful to troubleshoot. At minimum everyone needs to call Ring and demand a battery until this is resolved.

I have been calling Ring just about every day since it has happened with no solution. I also sent them an Instagram message and same old smoke and mirrors. I have an iOS device and all my other cameras work besides the stick up cam. This is really getting out of control that all these people have issues and nothing is being done. Guess I don’t have to worry about that 30 day ring subscription trial since it will be expired before the thing ever works for the first time.

So, new camera and brand new battery. Followed the guidance and plugged that battery in to charge. This battery was left for 12 hours, and showed only the green light.

However, placing it into the camera it says it is flat on the app.
I did double check it was sufficiently plugged in, so I can’t be accidentally mistaken.
I’m at a loss and it is beginning to bug me.

Help before I launch it across the room. Lol.

Most likely. My battery one is doing the same
Fully charged but says flat. Brand new. Most annoying.

so was there a fix, if rather have 30s snapshots instead of 10m

I have the same issue

My app has dropped the WiFi details I originally put in on set up. I need to press the reset button on the camera to set up again, I haven’t been able to do this as yet as they have been installed high up outside and I am disabled so had to pay someone to install, I am having to wait until they can come with the ladder to press the reset button and then I can try and set up.

I’m just going to check in everyday and remind Ring that not only is there still not a solution, but I haven’t even heard back from anyone.

This is unreal 8 pages and still no solution

I have 3 battery cameras which work great and a wired one that only works if I put a battery in

Ring you should issue all wired a battery as clearly your wired option is failing

Same problem here

Bought wired stickup camera today. Installed and updated firmware. Same issues. No live view. Critically low battery warning.

We had our wired stick up cam for while now as just like the others on this thread, for the last two weeks it’s going offline and reporting critical low battery. Having to pull the power to restart it weekly, getting very annoying. Following this thread like a hawk to see if Ring fixes this… ‘unfit for purpose comes to mind’ especially as we are paying a subscription for this product to keep us secure…

Still nothing. I have not had a working camera since I installed it. Being over a week, (8) pages of complaints, numerous calls, and still no solution or even someone call me back, I went to the BBB. I hated to do it, but maybe if enough of us do it, we will hear something back.

I’ve been calling these people with hold times of 40 mins and no one seems to know anything about the problem. The idiots keep telling me I’m making a mistake that it’s a battery cam and not a wired one. WTF. I mounted my entire system myself. I can’t believe such an advanced system as ring has such “lack of knowledge” professional customer service. Especially with the amount of people that are having the same problem.

I have bought 3 camera last week and the same problem on all new camera. States all undated with latest wire wall and updates

Same issue two new WIRED cams! Ring this is ridiculous. Please fix now, how can you let this go on for over a month from the first post? *removed other comments of frustration*

Ring team: please respond to the group. This is unacceptable customer service being that you have already responded once to this thread.

My stickup camera plug-in was fine until I deleted anb old (first gen) stickup cam battery that had a solar panel. Then my sitckup cam plugin immediatelyh showed a red battery icon on the dashboard and 0% battery on device health. And it says it’s plugged in. _ It seems to be working fine._ It’s now been a week and nothing has cleared the problem. It’s quite irritating. It’s kind of like crying wolf but it doesn’t really mean it – eventually I’ll filter it out, I guess, and then something bad will happen.

So…I bought a battery to add to my plug-in camera, thinking that it wouldn’t be bad to have a backup for hurricanes. Plugged it in, and still get the “Critically Low Battery” warning. “Very Poor” power status. Fails to capture motion. No snapshot. Connection errors when trying Live View. No customizable motion zones, but on/off zones are available (I need customizable motion zones because this faces a street). All other Ring cameras in my system are working correctly.

And so I decided to delete and reinstall the device as a battery powered camera. No more errors. “Very Good” power status. STILL: Fails to any capture motion at all. No snapshot. No customizable motion zones or on/off zones. This camera is failing terribly, currently is completely worthless, and no comments or action from Ring Support. There are a lot of frustrated people here now! It’s got one week before it goes back and I reevaluate switching to another security camera manufacturer. C’mon Amazon! Pull it together!
