Hi @YourReflectIonPhotography! The Solar Panel is certainly intended to charge your battery. Depending on factors such as usage, connection, and environment, the charge received from the Solar Panel will vary. Several hours of direct sunlight per day will help to ensure your Solar Panel is operating efficiently.
Even though your Solar Panel is attempting to charge, an excessive number of motion events, a poor wifi signal, or even cold temperatures can cause battery to drain quicker that it can be charged. For this reason, these factors may require your battery to be manually charged every once in awhile. Fine tuning settings can help with battery preservation, and optimizing a charge. I hope this helps!
