I am debating between Ring and Nest. I have experiance with Nest.
Do i HAVE to have a Ring security system to control the locks? With nest I did not, I could control the lock directly from the app with no alarm system.
Great question! If you wish to control it within the Ring App, you will need to set it up with the Ring Alarm or connect with Key by Amazon.

Do you have to have a z-Waze hub for the Yale Assure Sl 256 with z-Waze smart lock? Or will it connect without one? Trying to figure out if I need a smart hub or not. Thanks!
Hey @Jonbalz! Anything listed on our Work With Ring compatibility lists will allow for integration with our features and the lock’s. The Alarm Base Station is the communication hub for all compatible z-wave devices. I hope this helps!
