Introducing Caitlyn, Our Community Specialist

Hi neighbors! As I’m sure some of you have noticed, we have a new Community Specialist helping out in the Community. Take a look below to learn a little more about @Caitlyn_Ring :slight_smile:

How long have you worked for Ring?

Since October of 2019.

Preferred Ring Device?

My preferred Ring device would have to be the Indoor Cam. I use it to check in on my cats when I’m away from home, and I love using the two-way audio to talk to them and hear them meow back!

What are three fun facts about you?

  1. I have two cats that I adopted from the same shelter. I’ve had them for about 4 years, and they’re basically my children.
  2. I’m into technology, so my main hobby outside of work is playing video games with my friends, such as League of Legends and Apex Legends.
  3. In addition to gaming, I love to read in my free time. Historical novels, thrillers, and dramas are some of my favorites!

What is your favorite part about Ring Community?

I’ve been an avid user of the internet since it really started taking off, and I’ve always enjoyed interacting in a forum setting. I feel like it fosters a sense of community amongst a shared interest. I really like seeing the neighbor to neighbor interaction we have here and love being able to chime in and help when I can!

What is your favorite part about Ring?

Technology has always been a huge part of my life, and working for a technology-forward company has helped me further expand on this interest while getting to explore the world of smart home and home security tech. The people I have the privilege to work with are passionate and always do what they can to make sure our neighbors are heard, and the Community is a great example of this.

Be sure to say hello and give a warm welcome to @Caitlyn_Ring if you get the chance :smileyvery-happy:

Hello Caitlyn, glad to see you with us here.
Video gamer here too. Love tech in general as well. Apex is a great game! In my 50s but still a 20 year old at heart.

Sounds like a nice person. So, are you saying that there are actual Ring employees on this forum ? And it is nice that she shares some personal info, but what type of qualifications does she have that will help us with our concerns? Like is she a hardware tech , a software tech, a web tech, etc . ?

Hey @rawmacias! The Ring Community is a neighbor to neighbor support forum where our Ring family and friends can come together to ask about the products, their features, and all things Ring related. Since we are a Ring official platform, we have Ring employees, like myself, that moderate the forum and provide technical assistance and guidance when we can. We are similar to the support you would get when you call into Ring for technical assistance, but with the limitation that we cannot provide individual and personal account support, but instead general guidance for common questions and concerns.

For immediate assistance whenever you need it the most, especially when dealing with matters on your personal account, please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available here. We’re taking additional steps to protect our team and help reduce the spread of COVID-19. This has resulted in longer than normal wait times. If you are outside of the US, please read our response to COVID-19 here to see how to contact support.

@rawmacias

     _So, are you saying that there are actual Ring employees on this forum ?_

Yes, there are Ring employees on this forum, but to work for Ring you are required to change your last name to " _Ring" … just joking. :slight_smile:

@Caitlyn

Welcome welcome! Happy you are here!

This morning i had some one that looked like antifa knocking at our door. they had a mask and sunglasses and two back packs full. very scary looking. for some reason, they only came to our house, despite the no soliciation sign. I went to post and ring deleted it. How is coyotes something that neighbors need to warned about but not antifa? Isn’t this what ring is for? Am i blocked? i never said the word antifa, but neighbors beware and down it came. this is wrong.

@cjjc , yes, indeed you should warn your neighbors, so probably a more appropriate place to post your warning would be on your phone app, using the “Neighbors” icon on your main dashboard. That way, **neighbors in your vicinity ** will get your warning, since this it something that occurred in your area.

I hope this helps you and your neighbors :slight_smile:

Strange you mention that Community is full of answeres because I have mentioned concerns about Ring product and app and am still waiting for a direct answere. Most answeres are generic or someone just replying back about the same issue .

Hi Caitlyn I am new to the ring and in need of help, I was given a ring 2nd gen for christmas but cannot get it to work I have followed all the instructions for the installation but cannot get past a message telling me I have no internet connection. I know this is not right because I can type a web address in the search bar on google and am taken to the web page this also applies when trying to install on my iPad .Can you please help.

When I called Ring phone line for help, they recommended getting the answers from Ring Community before they connected to real person. When I go to Ring Community, I got a generic answer and then they recommended calling Ring for further assistance. I would like to have a Ring Community specialist as an engineer who worked or has been working for Ring so he/she has a deep technical knowledge about the products. To my surprise, the Ring specialist who replied to Amazon reviewers have better technical answers than the answers I found here.

How come we can’t link our Ring doorbell accounts? My parents are still living at their home. I would like to join their account to mine and also my sisters so we can monitor when their door needs charging or when they leave the house. When will Ring have this option?

Yeah, I have reached out to Ring in different ways, I am trying this forum thing to see if I can get clarity on a problem we have had for a while. #LinkedRingAccounts
