I have a Tracfone LGStylo4 running Android 8.1. The snapshot feature was working fine until the app was updated to 3.27.2 and the phone did a internal software update which I think was a security update. (Software L713DL10s Build OPM1.17019.019).
This all worked perfectly before the updates.
Now the snapshot funtion is still working but any time I try to scroll the timeline back, it will only go apprx an hour, then freeze and return to the main page. I know it’s the phone as my S4 tablet running Android 10 and app version 3.27.2 works fine.
I’ve deleted and re-installed the app to no avail. Any thoughs would be appreciated. I can’t upgrade the phone as it’s the only one I can afford with a large screen for my bad eyes. Thanks again.
I placed my new phone into service and it appears the problem starts after the phone updates from the May 1 2020 Security Patch level to the June 1, 2020 level.
Software Version changes from L713DL10l to L713DL10s.
Baseband Version goes from: MPSS.TA2.3.c11-00065-8953_GEN_PACK-1.192627.1.200732.1 to: MPSS.TA2.3.c11-00078-8953_GEN_PACK-1.226095.1.266483.3
Really at a loss here as if I let the new phone update to the latest software, the ring snapshot will stop working.
Hey @goob1. The most recent app version for the Ring app on Android phones should have you on 3.28, so it sounds like you’re not on the right app version if you’re on app version 3.27.2! Please ensure you update your app and let me know if this continues.
3.28 is posted now but did not make any difference. The LG Stylo4 Tracfone with the older security and software updates is fine but the newer updates I listed kills the snapshot replay.
My Tab S4 with Android 10 and the wife’s Motog6 Tracfone with Android 9 work fine on 3.28.

My new identical phone just updated and the Ring snapshot is working fine. At a loss for an answer.

I’m resubmitting this as it has happened on my second Tracfone LGStylo4 after updates to the June 1, 2020 security level. Snapshot timeline resets app. I’ve attached a scree capture of what happens.

Hey @goob1. Thanks for getting back to me and detailing a bit more of this information here for me! I have passed on this information to the team and they are looking more into this now. This may take some time, so please continue to use other features in the app that do not crash the app, as well as your other devices. I will let you know once we have more information on this!
