Wondering if Ring alarm is set in Away mode and I remotely turn on a light/lamp if it will set off the motion detector? If we are gone from the house until after dark, it is nice to turn on the lights remotely but don’t want to set off the alarm.
Hi @ wushock. Our motion detectors for the alarm system are based off of PIR heat signatures, so it should not set off your alarm. I would recommend testing this out first to see if it does or does not! You could simply set your alarm to away mode from outside of your house at night, turn on said light, and then if your system stays armed - you’re good! If your system triggers, simply disarm it, and that will give you your answer.
