Silence exit delay and armed announcement on demand

@mmediaman Get the hell out of here with your philosophy.

This a feature request, and the only way for it to gain traction is to ask for it.

@kayakcrazy11 The feature has been requested for well over a year. If the hat fits then wear it.

Hi neighbors! We appreciate all of your feedback. As we value our neighbors’ feedback, we’ve created a Feature Request board. Feel free to add this and any future feature requests there. @adamsp the answer to your question is quite simple. The user-base does not demand it. Your voice, mine and the few other people who have chimed in on this thread is not enough to cause any change. . . . The point is that until decision makers within Ring get the conviction to do something about it, or the users make a bigger stink about it . . .

Let your “Thumbs Up” be your vote for a Silent Exit Delay method! Different than this Ring Alarm forum thread, now Ring Teams notices Feature Request Board with higher Thumbs Up numbers, and therefore are more likely incorporate the request. I apologize if I missed some of very similar posts on this Feature Board, for Silent alarm features, and I did not link to this topic already posted in other non-Feature Request Board areas (too many). But if you think this feature is something you want , the CLICK ON EACH LINK below and THEN CLICK THE THUMBS UP icon of the submitting post author. Because many of the below links have so few to none Thumbs Ups votes, so you can help make your Kudo Vote be heard! ?

Thanks for pulling all of those links together @Boone. You see even with the request facility, enough people still don’t vote. Even if the idea is the most awesome idea, if people don’t know about it to vote, it goes nowhere. Wonder if there is an effective way to poll people without being borthersome… Ought to be a better way to measure sentiment.

Dang, I knew I would accidentally miss some similar posts on the Feature Board for Silent alarm features, so I’ve added the “Quick Exit” link of miketemm too.

As a new Ring customer this is the biggest issue I’m having with the system. As everyone else has already mentioned, I’ve had a few other alarm systems in the past and they all had a way to silence the exit delay sounds.

Not sure what good it’ll do, but I’ve gone and thumbs upped all of the feature request posts and commented to each of them in hopes of improving visibility to the Ring product development team.

I really hope they make this a priority in the next release because it’s driving my crazy not being able to silence quickly and on demand.

This is such a basic feature on most professional alarm systems - “Quiet Exit”. My Honeywell and IDT systems both had it. I scratch my head as to why Ring cannot/will not implement this simple addition to their product. And also why isnt there a “Quiet Arm”? Same deal! Frustrating to wake people up in the middle of the night to go out or to arm the system!

Should be simple change to the programming to add a “long hold” on the Stay button and it would let you open any Primary door for 30 seconds with out an alarm or without restarting the arming process. Or to start a “Quiet Arm”.

Come’on Ring!!!

Add me to the list. I’m a new Ring customer and so far am loving it compared to ADT, but there are a few little things missing I’d like to see, and the quiet exit delay for Home mode is definitely one of them!

Add me to the list I have a dog that wakes up when he put the alarm on to go to bed and wakes him in the morning. Without the notification to say “home and armed” it would be brilliant.

This is a basic alarm feature. Surprised ring hasn’t implemented this.

Had I known this very standard feature were not available I would not have invested in my Ring alarm. I guess I have to wake my wife up when I want to walk out on the porch to drink my coffee in the morning. What a shame … I should have stuck with CPI.

I just got my Ring alarm setup after being with alarm.com for the past 7 years. Very disappointed to learn there isn’t a way to arm the system silently. I hope this feature is added soon.

I just bought Ring Security with 30+ sensors installed the house. I’m baffled how silencing the exit delay this isn’t an option. All of my previous alarms had this functionality.

My significant other goes to work at 3am and always sets the alarm mode to “Home” before they leave. Obviously an exit delay is required so they have time to head out the door, but that countdown noise wakes me up every time! Resulting to turn down the overall volume of the base station really defeats its purpose. I’m seriously considering returning this.

I’ve been gone from this community for too long, thank you for the pings and picking up my steam where I left off

+1 for this feature request.

I want to programmaticaly activate alarm at_home mode to protect my house’s doors at nigth but don’t want to wake all the familly.
And at 6am I need to disarme it silently just before the first person is awake.

With mqtt and domotic server it’s possible (home assistant/jeedom(French)) to change the base station volume before and after mode activation.
But should be great to do it without this.

+1 from me. I’m a new Ring user and perplexed why this simple feature isn’t implemented.

I also want this feature. I would never have bought a Ring alarm system if I had known it didn’t have such a basic and necessary function.
