I have just installed ring sensors on all of the windows in my home. I also just had motorized roller shades installed, however when raising, the end of the roller shade gets caught on the bottom edge of the magnet. Has anyone elso run into this issue, and what hack did you use to solve it?

You didnât write whether you have the larger Gen1 Contact sensors, or the smaller Gen2 sensors. But either way, it sounds like you need smaller magnets to be mounted in order to âcloseâ the electrical âreedâ switch in the sensor-portion of your contact sensor. You have several options:
Since the main difference between the Gen1 Contact-Sensor and the Gen2 Contact-Sensor is size & bulk, you might not like the size & appearance of using a Gen1 magnet (available to purchase, but large) with your current Gen2 sensors (if thatâs what your currently have). So another option that you might want to consider is the smaller Ring âSlim Magnetâ version. Hereâs the magnet lengths:
You could remount the magnetic Contact sensors and magnet portion to a different location that enables the roller shade to not hit them.
You can also practically use any magnet that is sufficiently strong enough to close the sensorâs âreed-switchâ. So you could find and purchase a thin magnet. Or even open your current magnet case and âdouble-sidedâ tape to mount only the magnet without itâs plastic casing. Again, just make sure you mount it where it does close the sensorâs internal switch. Iâve attached two pictures to give you an idea what is inside the magnetâs case (these are Gen2 Contact Sensors in pictures). Also, here are some links that may give you other alternative mounting ideas to stop interfering with your roller shades. These links also show difference in size.
Unique Solution for Partial Open or to give you ideas. It shows the âSlimâ magnet and notice where he sets it to close âreed-switchâ on Gen1 sensor (itâs not centered):
